What Is the Transfer Points System?

The transfer points system is used to prioritize teachers who are eligible for transfers based on their service at a particular station, total service in the department, and special or preferential circumstances.

The final points are a sum of:

  •  Station (School) Points
  •  Service Points
  •  Special Points
  •  Preferential Categories (if applicable)

These points help the department schedule and finalize transfer postings fairly and transparently.

Overview of the AP Teachers Transfers 2025 Points Calculator

1. Station Points (Based on School Area Category)

Category-I 1 point
Category-II 2 points
Category-III 3 points
Category-IV 5 points
ITDA Areas +1 extra point per year (in addition to area points)

If the village/town category changes over time, station points are to be calculated proportionately.

2. Service Points

0.5 point per completed year of service in all cadres as on 31st May.

3. Special Points

Spouse working in Government/Public sector/Aided institutions within the same district/zone 5
Unmarried women teachers above 40 years of age 5
Orthopedically challenged (40–55%) / Hearing impaired (60–70 decibels) 5
Visually challenged (≥40%) / Orthopedically challenged (56–69%) 7
State/District level recognized Teachers Union President/General Secretary 5
Legally separated women, Ex-servicemen, or spouses of service personnel in the forces 5
Scouts & Guides Unit functioning for 2 years (certified by DEO) 2
Reapportionment Affected Teachers (if eligible) 5 or previous station points + special/preferential points

Teachers with 5/8 years of service or voluntarily opting are not eligible for reapportionment points.

4. Preferential Categories (Get precedence regardless of points)

  • 100% visually disabled / ≥80% orthopedically disabled
  • 75% visually or 70–79% orthopedically / Hearing loss above 70dB
  • Widows (not remarried)
  • Major health conditions (cancer, open heart surgery, organ transplant, etc.)
  • Dependents with mental disability
  • Children with serious diseases (Juvenile Diabetes, Thalassemia, etc.)

5. Negative Points

-1 point per month of unauthorized absence (up to 10 points max)
