Attendance & Punctuality Rules

All staff working in AP Model Schools must mark their attendance before 8:45 AM. Similarly, 100% student attendance should be ensured by contacting absentees daily through phone calls and conducting home visits for students absent for more than three consecutive days. This step is designed to reduce absenteeism and enhance classroom learning outcomes.

Syllabus Completion Guidelines

Teachers are directed to complete the syllabus for Classes 6th to 12th strictly as per the Academic Calendars of SCERT, AP & BIE, AP. Any delay in syllabus completion affects exam preparation and student confidence, which is why the Department has mandated periodic reviews by Principals and inspecting officers.

Daily Tests & Assessments

Daily tests are now compulsory for Class 10 and Intermediate students. Subject teachers must maintain a marks register that will be reviewed by the Principal fortnightly. This ensures transparency and accountability while keeping students in continuous learning mode for Board Examinations.

NEET, JEE & EAPCET Coaching in AP Model Schools

Both online and offline NEET, JEE, and EAPCET coaching classes must be conducted regularly for Intermediate students. While online classes are already being held, the Department has noted that offline coaching is missing in several schools. Henceforth, Principals are directed to ensure that offline sessions are conducted as per BIEAP guidelines.

Remedial Teaching & NMMS Classes

Remedial classes and National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) coaching must be included in the timetable. Teachers should provide notes, correct assignments, and focus on weaker students to bridge learning gaps. Principals must monitor the effective conduct of these sessions to ensure improved student performance.

Monitoring of Slow Learners

Every teacher is expected to maintain a Slow Learners Monitoring Register. The weekly progress of these students should be tracked and reviewed by the Principal. This structured monitoring will help bring weaker students on par with the rest of the class and improve pass percentages.

Supervised Study Hours

To enhance focus and revision, supervised study hours are mandated for Class 10 and Intermediate students. These will be conducted from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM in the morning and from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM in the evening. Teachers must guide and assist students during these sessions.

Why Surprise Visits Are Important

Surprise inspections by AMOs and AAMOs ensure that schools maintain discipline, academic standards, and proper implementation of government initiatives. These visits help identify gaps in teaching, student engagement, and infrastructure. Moreover, they keep principals and staff alert, fostering a culture of responsibility and accountability.

The new guidelines stress that any deviation from these rules will be taken seriously. Regular monitoring, both online and offline, will ensure that Model Schools meet their objectives of providing quality education comparable to private institutions.
