1. Common Admission Test (CAT):

• Conducted by: Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs).  Admission to MBA and PGDM programs in IIMs and other top B-schools in India.
• Exam Format:
  • Sections: Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR), Quantitative Ability (QA).
  • Duration: 2 hours (40 minutes per section).
  • Total Questions: Around 66 (varies slightly each year).
• Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PWD).

2. Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT):

• Conducted by: XLRI, Jamshedpur. Admission to XLRI and other B-schools across India.
• Exam Format:
  • Sections: Verbal Ability & Logical Reasoning, Decision Making, Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation, General Knowledge (not used in percentile calculation).
  • Duration: 3 hours.
  • Total Questions: Around 100. Focus on Decision-Making skills.
• Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

3. Management Aptitude Test (MAT):

• Conducted by: All India Management Association (AIMA).
• Purpose: Admission to over 600 management colleges in India.
• Exam Modes:
  • Paper-Based Test (PBT).
  • Computer-Based Test (CBT).
  • Internet-Based Test (IBT).
• Exam Format:
  • Sections: Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, Indian & Global Environment.
  • Duration: 2.5 hours.
  • Total Questions: 200.
• Eligibility: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.

4. Common Management Admission Test (CMAT):

• Conducted by: National Testing Agency (NTA).
• Exam Format:
  • Sections: Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
  • Duration: 3 hours.
  • Total Questions: 100 (20 per section).
• Scoring: Each question carries 4 marks; 1 mark deducted for each wrong answer.
